Nova has been working at WWF-Indonesia for almost eight years, supporting the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) in the development of at least six Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). She provides scientific recommendations based on spatial analysis for designs that best fit MPAs, and also conducts spatial analysis at the MPA Network level, working in three sub-seascapes in eastern Indonesia. She has worked closely with leading institutions in this area, such as the University of Queensland, in developing fish larva connectivity models to justify marine area priorities that should be protected in order to conserve biodiversity and fisheries. Nova earned her MS in remote sensing and her BS in marine science.
