We are a team of interdisciplinary marine conservation scientists working across local, national, and global strategies. Our work addresses biodiversity conservation, fisheries management, local communities, and preserving essential ecosystem services. At a global scale we inform marine resource policy through large-scale synthesis projects which identify the evidence base and effectiveness for marine conservation interventions.
We support marine conservation interventions at the national and local scale across the world- but with a particular focus on Indonesia- where we support marine protected area initiation, establishment, monitoring and evaluation, and effective governance. Our work seeks to understand variation in social and ecological outcomes from marine conservation. We strategically identify how to accelerate marine conservation workflows to ensure appropriate interventions are selected and allow monitoring data to be more rapidly evaluated and communicated to decision makers. This enables decision makers to set better marine resource policy, informed on how policies will affect people and the environment.
