Fitry Pakiding has been on the faculty at Department of Agricultural and Agricultural Technology at Papua State University (Universitas Negeri Papua, UNIPA) since 2000. A Fulbright Grant recipient, she received a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University. Fitry has conducted multiple research projects, and has collaborated with and advised local and national governments, and international NGOs on economic development and food security issues in West Papua. Since 2010, she has served as co-principal investigator in partnership with WWF-US and field team lead conducting socio economic surveys at MPAs in the BHS.
